HAL Group Inc. was engaged by 407 ETR Concession Company Limited to carry out detailed condition surveys of three critical structures on Highway 407, with a combined deck area of about 24,000 m².

STRUCTURES SURVEYED

Dundas Street over Highway 407 (MTO Site No. 10-477-1993), and the eastbound and westbound Highway 407 bridges over CN MacMillan Yard (MTO Site Nos. 37-1317-1-1995 and 37-1317-2-1995).

ADVANCED NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

Ground-penetrating radar and ultrasonic testing were used alongside visual inspection to find hidden defects such as internal cracking and reinforcement corrosion.

PRIORITIZED REPAIRS

​

Deficiencies were categorized by urgency so that critical items could be addressed first and preventive maintenance planned to extend service life.

SAFE, COORDINATED FIELDWORK

​

Inspections were planned and coordinated with stakeholders to work safely on a high-volume highway corridor carrying heavy truck traffic.

EARLIER 407 ETR WORK

​

HAL previously completed limited condition surveys of four other 407 ETR structures, including the Highway 407 underpasses at Airport Road and Mississauga Road.
