HAL Group Inc. was retained by Pape North Connect to conduct pre- and post-construction condition surveys for six hundred and fifty-eight (658) structures as part of the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations Project. These surveys are designed to thoroughly inspect and document the structural condition of buildings and facilities within the Project Zone of Influence (PZoI) prior to and following construction activities.

SCOPE OF WORK

The scope of work includes detailed interior and exterior inspections to assess the condition of walls, foundations, roofs, windows, and other structural components. Particular attention is given to identifying existing damage such as cracks, settlement, and other signs of structural distress.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

Surveys include assessment by a structural engineer to confirm if any remedial action is required, including:

  • Building monitoring

  • crack monitoring

  • Post-construction re-inspection

  • Further structural assessment.

TRUSTED STRUCTURAL INSIGHT

This project highlights HAL Group’s expertise in delivering high-volume, technically complex condition surveys in urban transit environments, with a strong emphasis on structural integrity, documentation quality, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. Our work continues to support risk management and public safety across one of Toronto’s most significant infrastructure developments.
